What I Bring: Lived Experience and Professional & Clinical Training
My work brings together clinical training, a background in child development and learning, and lived experience of supporting a child with complex needs. My background in education — including an MA in Learning and Teaching and a PGCE — gives me a strong foundation in how children learn, communicate and cope in everyday settings. It also shapes the way I support parents: with clarity, calm and a focus on what feels realistic day to day.
My journey into clinical practice began through supporting our eldest son, who is autistic, has epilepsy, and has experienced complex health challenges including autoimmune encephalitis. Through this, I saw how targeted nutrition and careful, evidence‑based interventions can make a meaningful difference to energy, resilience and everyday functioning. I also understand how relentless caring can be, and how easily parents become depleted while trying to hold everything together. These experiences led me to specialise in testing‑led, evidence‑informed nutrition. My approach is steady, compassionate and practical — working low and slow, and supporting both the child and the parent in ways that feel safe and achievable. I’m a practitioner within the Pebble Nutrition team, a family‑run practice where I offer individualised support for children with neurodevelopmental and neuroimmune needs.
